I got the meadow bar at the Saturday market, the one with thyme, rosemary and half a summer field set inside it. Six weeks in and it still holds its shape - it dries fast because it stands on its own little ridge, and you can still count the row of six tiny holes on the slope. My daughter calls it the bathtub for the soul. My husband says it looks like something famous he saw in a museum in Paris, and laughs every time he washes his hands.

The maker says the design is a classic 1917 model, public domain now, and anyone is allowed to cast it. Lathers soft, smells like August. We are on our second one.
